Please pray for my g. nephew, John, who received papers for re-deployment into the Army. He spent two years in Afghanistan, was released, has been going to college in nursing school, has had surgery for a hearing loss (he got in Afghanistan). He is appealing not to be re-deployed because of his hearing impairment and he wants to finish nursing school. This time he will be sent to Iraq. He served in the U.S. Airborne and would have to go back to jump school before leaving. If he doesn't get deferred hopefully he'll get medical training while in the service this time. He wants to go into trauma care.

Thanks in advance for your prayers for John.

I pray to our Lord that He will hear our prayers for John to not get re-deployed. Lord have mercy! Amen.

Prayers for John. I don't understand why he would have to go. Isn't hearing loss one of those things that bars one from military service? Has the surgery corrected the issue? I am deaf as a rock when my hearing aids aren't in and surgery wouldn't have fixed the problem. I'm not an M.D. but I sure am wondering what the doctors are thinking.

I shared as much as I know and am only asking for prayers here on the prayer section so not getting into a discussion. Thanks dear friends for praying for John and whatever process is needed for him in this situation. God bless.

Prayers for John. Praying that the Holy Mother of God will protect him from all harm and keep him close in her motherly care. And may his guardian angel look after his spiritual and temporal needs.

Jesus keep him where he needs to be, confound the foolishness of the wise of this world, and keep him home in school. Thanks Jesus!

Update: My great nephew,John, received his honorable discharge papers just before Christmas. He will now be able to continue going to nursing school and does not have to go back into the military. He will continue to have follow up treatment for his injuries (hearing) sustained when he was in Afghanistan. Thanks be to God and thanks for your prayers.

Pani Rose..John has looked into that also. He is my great nephew and doesn't live near here so I keep in touch with his mother and father (my nephew and his wife) via email although we visit a couple of times yearly..but am pretty sure his aunt (my niece) told me that. Thank you for your prayers for John. He is a fine young man and really wants to be a good nurse after all he saw in his time in the service.

Happy New Year soon!
