Can anyone advise whether particular Church Fathers were more popular than others in pre-schism Russia, or whether certain Church Fathers are often referred to for theological guidance in Old Ritualist circles?

Obviously the Old Ritualists scour the fathers for any reference to the two fingered sign of the cross, but do they have any favourites who more broadly support their ascetic approach of life?

I ask because I would image certain Carthaginian and African fathers would be more amenable to supporting rigid asceticism etc than some of those more beloved of modern Orthodoxy.
