For Catechumens and Candidates (Entering the Church at Pascha)

Lord Jesus, bless those who come to You for inclusion into Your Body, the Church, at this Holy Season and at every time in our age. You call and these people answer as so many have done throughout the course of human history "here I am, Lord, I come to do Your Will." Increase their gift of faith and help your servants already in the faith community to nurture and build up these new brothers and sisters. Give to those who come for Baptism the laver of regeneration, to those who will be given the Seal of the Gift of the Holy Spirit in Chrismation, a firming of their new-found faith so that it will be a wall of granite and a sheet of bronze in the building up of Your People. May their new example to the rest of us give us a return to our own days of newness with You when each thing learned and each practice undertaken to build our relationship with You seemed to be so exciting. Help us to shake off any sense of sameness or lack of ardor we may have developed in our years of service. Make us all renewed and on fire with love for You so that on the Day of the Resurrection we may shake the world with our faith-filled example as You shook the earth and moved the stone that sealed Your Tomb. Set us so on fire that on the Day of Pentecost the whole world may be set alight by us who proclaim Your Death and Your Holy Resurrection as the answer to the deepest longings of the human heart. Through the prayers of Your Most Holy Mother and of all the saints, we ask You, Lord Jesus, to hear us. AMEN.
