David Cheney reports on Catholic-Hierarchy.org that Bishop Milan (Sasik), CM, Apostolic Administrator of the Eparchy of Mukachevo of the Ruthenians since 2002, was named Eparch of the same on March 17.

But why does his Greek Catholic-style Kopak have a mounted cross?

Glory to Jesus Christ!
If you wish to see something truly magnificent, watch the vesting of the Bishop.
It is around 18:20 of the video, and is something we normally do not have an opportunity to see.

To be honest, Deacon, I have been at a lot of Ruthenian pontifical Divine Liturgies, and never once have I seen the bishop vest in the nave as is required by the Archieretikon.

I've attended three hierarchical liturgies at my Ruthenian parish, and the only one of those three in which the bishop vested in the nave was the one in which the bishop was Melkite.

I assume for the same reason a bishop's mitre has a mounted cross and an archpriest's does not, to designate he is a hierarch.

The red hat Archbishop Lubomyr is wearing is a kolpak.

Stuart,
Not see a bishop vest?
Perhaps a trip to Parma would be edifying to you.

I've seen our bishops vest several times; Metropolitan Basil, of blessed memory, vested last year for the ordination of Fr. Daniel Forsythe and from the videos I've seen Bishop John does it regularly.

Fr. Deacon, thanks for the explanation of the kolpak.

Would anyone tell me what a "fimi" is? I think it's some sort of hymn or anthem sung/chanted at a Liturgy served by a bishop...or not.
