Pavel Ivanovich Member Registered: 07/03/03 Posts: 2799 Loc: Western Australia	It took a lot of searching but it appears the Deacon holds the Orar and puts it over the arm at other times, same as it is done today . Photos of Old Rite Deacons are hard to come by on the internet it would seem.

Pavel Ivanovich Member Registered: 07/03/03 Posts: 2799 Loc: Western Australia	The only photo I could find showed the deacon had the first two fingers and the thumb on one side and the last 2 fingers on the other side of the Orar. So when the Orar was held up the 2 last fingers away on the side away from the deacon.
