Philippe, my brother,
Very nice. Thank you for posting this. I see Archbishop Cyril is there as well. I presume that is the Cathedral - beautiful iconostasis.
Many years,
Neil

Philippe,
The photo under the heading "ATUALIZADO: Como se cumprimenta o Patriarca?" - although the more I look at it, I think it may be a photo taken here in the US.
Many years,
Neil

Yes,and indeed it is! It is written in the caption: "100th Birthday Cocktail of the Melkite Cathedral of Our Lady of Annunciation of USA". Your Portuguese is not presently very good, huh? I'm joking. You probably was confused by the Brazilian acronym "EUA", meaning "Estados Unidos da América". I updated new photos, of the visit to Taubaté - São Paulo.

Is HB Gregorios visiting Brazil only or other Melkite Dioceses in Latin America?

As His Beatitude concludes his visit to Brazil, the text of his opening address is posted at the website of the Eparchy of Newton. See hereMany years, Neil

Couple of questions for Philippe:
I note from the schedule of the visit that His Beatitude met with the Russian and Syriac communities. Is there a Syriac parish in Brazil?
I'm curious as to why Sayedna Spiridon, is pastoring a Latin parish?
Many years,
Neil

But the Syriacs in question were the Orthodox one, who have some parishes in Brazil (don't me ask why there had a visit to them). The Syriac Orthodox and Melkite Patriarchs have a close personal relationship and there appears to be a genuine fondness and respect among the Syriac Orthodox clergy for our Patriarch. In fact, in the photo from your blog that you and I discussed earlier (the one taken at the chancery in Boston), although I can't see his face, I am pretty certain that the priest kissing His Beatitude's hand is Father Anton (Sabha), the young pastor of St Matthew Syriac Orthodox parish, located a few miles from our Cathedral. Each time His Beatitude travels to Boston, Father is among the first visitors to greet him on arrival. Many years, Neil
