Medjugorje 'seers' hosted by Vienna cathedralSeptember 23, 2010
http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=7687Two of the “seers” who claim to have received more than 40,000 apparitions of the Virgin Mary will speak at a prayer service in Vienna’s cathedral of St. Stephen on Thursday evening, September 22.
Although local bishops in Bosnia have discouraged belief in the alleged apparitions, Ivan Dragicevic and Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti are described in an announcement from the cathedral as belonging to “the group of young people who have received Marian visions at Medjugorje.” In March the Holy See announced that a special commission had been established to study the “Medjugorje phenomenon,” presumably leading up to a formal Vatican statement on the reported apparitions.
Vienna's Cardinal Christoph Schönborn—who is expected to participate in the September 23 prayer service—visited Medjugorje in January 2010 and indicated that he was impressed by what he saw there, although he stopped short of saying that the visions were authentic.
