The books in question are a series, sold by eastern Christian publications, e.g.

Good News from the East - Volume II
Price: $15.00 USD
#E52 Good News from the East - Volume II

My question is is this a reprint of a series that was put out under the name "Eastern Catholic Homilies" (or something similar) in the late sixties or seventies? The series from the late sixties is somewhat latinised in theology and was written by a ruthenian priest, but I can't find it anywhere online.

I thought someone here might know if they are one and the same series.

All, the four volume series *Good News from the East* are NOT reprints from a previous series. They are annual collections of homilies by Fr John Zeyack compiled and edited from homilied he had used as his parishes in Rahway, NJ and Harrisburg, PA. Each book is most of a truly Byzantine liturgical year, following the Byzantine lexicon and feast day cycles. Each volume is from a different year, so there are four versions of some feasts.

My father, now 80, couldn't put them down when he started reading them a few years ago, claiming he learned more about his Church and faith in simple, down-to-earth terms, by reading those books than he had in an entire lifetime before!

Hmm. I wonder if this might be the book I saw, though it looks later than what I thought.

Is anyone familiar with it?
