New Year’s Prayer

(This prayer is not mine, but I have permission to share it.)

Lord Jesus, at the beginning of this New Year, we reaffirm our confession that YOU are the Christ, the Son of the living God! We dedicate this New Year to a closer following of You and a firm intention of living the Holy Gospel fully with all our strength. We also reaffirm our need for one another and ask Your help to try to serve all our brothers and sisters in the Church and in the human family, of which we are a part. May we make You known and loved throughout the world and may we spread the Gospel of Your love in concrete ways daily. Help us with Your grace, for without You we can do nothing! Keep close to us O Lord that we may be successful in our daily Christian struggle to grow in our relationship with You and in our ability to forgive and love everyone around us. Give us patience this year to deal with all that comes to us and help us to have patience with all of our brothers and sisters, especially those in our own families! Help us this year to be so full of YOU that others will no longer see us, but YOU within us and in our speech and actions. We give to Your Most Holy Mother, the Ever-Virgin Mary, all of our prayers, works, and deeds and actions that she might purify them and give them to You as a more acceptable offering. We ask all of these things in Your Precious and All Holy Name, Lord Jesus Christ, Who with Your Father and the Holy Spirit, live and reign as God unto ages of ages. Amen.

Happy New Year to my brethren at byzcath.

Bob
