hey, i just found the stories of Saint Theosevia the Deaconess of Nyssa and Saint Thomaïs the Righteous of Lesvos and Patron of Marriage. Are they eastern catholic or orthodox saints?? can a catholic have them as patron saints or pray to them if they are orthodox? I find it odd that 1 of them is deaconess. I know Scripture says there were women deacons in the early church, but it's still odd.

They are regarded as saints by both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, so you more than welcomed to pray to them and have them as your patron saints.

As to Saint Theosevia being a deaconess, you may want to do a search on this Forum for past discussions on the role of deaconesses in the early Church.
