Three interesting articles on Russian Old Believer icons in a 1991 Smithsonian Institution Press publication entitled "Russian Copper Icons and Crosses from the Kunz Collection: Castings of Faith". They are:

ICONS AMIDST RUSSIAN OLD BELIEVERS OF OREGON AND ALASKA by Richard A. Morris p. 11

ICONS IN THE DAILY LIFE OF POMORIANS IN THE UMTED STATES by Anton Serge Beliajeff p. 15

OLD BELIEVERS AND THE MANUFACTURING OF COPPER ICONS by Anton Serge Beliajeff p. 17

Tom,

I was looking for something and a link to this post came up in the search. I hadn't read it before and stopped to check it out - putting an early end to what I was working at. Very, very interesting read (the entire publication, actually - not just the articles specific to Old Believers). As always, thank you.

Many years,

Neil
