I understand this has thrown a lot of people for a loop around here. What exactly is it and why is it so bad? Christ is Risen! There is a Subforum: "The Revised Divine Liturgy". Take a look there and see if that addresses your question.

I understand this has thrown a lot of people for a loop around here. What exactly is it and why is it so bad? For a fairly recent comment and summary and partial critique see the thread entitled The Byzantine Liturgy by Archpriest David Petras, SEOD. More specifics and details (going back through 2005 at least) are in the sub-forum The Revised Divine Liturgy as already noted.
