Is anyone aware of a published history of the OCA, similar to those which Father Lawrence Barriger has written about ACROD?

I'm familiar with individual articles by Father John Matusiak and others, but not any book length presentations detailing the beginnings of the Metropolia and the parishes that transitioned to it from the Ruthenian and Ukrainian GC Churches.

I have the same question about both the UOC in America and the UOC of America.

Many years,

Neil

Neil,

Just an FYI - OCA America is dated and probably contains the standard OCA polemics concerning the UOC (So. Bound Brook) and ROCOR. This was originally published, if I'm not mistaken, for the US Bicentennial and so is 35 years old. It has been a long time since I've seen a copy (mine disappeared a long time ago.

One the reasons I started to collect individual parish histories is because there was no overall, objective history. There is some good, although dated, coverage of the origins and development of the UOC in "Quest for Orthodox Church Unity in America," by Archimandrite Serafim Publisher: Saints Boris and Gleb Press.
