DTBrown Member Registered: 11/03/01 Posts: 1822 Loc: Oregon	This book, newly available from Internet Archive, by Anglican patristic scholar Trevor Jalland has long been out of print. He traces the historical development of the papacy from its beginning to the end of the 19th century, taking turns to both please and challenge those both pro and con. It's a bit dated but still an interesting read. It can be read online or downloaded here .
