The Romanian Orthodox Holy Synod recently canonized Metropolitan Simion Ştefan:

This will be of interest to many Carpatho-Rusyn history buffs and those who have roots in the Eparchy of Mukachevo, since this metropolitan was the one who consecrated Peter Parthenius as a bishop. Whether Peter kept his pro-Union tendencies secret in order to get consecrated, or whether Simion knew about them, is historically unclear.

Sfântul Simion, roaga-te pentru noi!

Dn. David

May God have compassion upon the intercession of all the clergy and hierarchy of THAT difficult time for us in OUR difficult time.

As they say, the more things change the more they stay the same. Same difficulties, only the names and places have changed.

St Simion, pray for us.
