Chtec Member Registered: 01/27/02 Posts: 1933 Loc: Sharon/Hermitage, PA	The Romanian Orthodox Holy Synod recently canonized Metropolitan Simion Ştefan: http://www.basilica.ro/en/news/the_holy_...tefan_7673.html This will be of interest to many Carpatho-Rusyn history buffs and those who have roots in the Eparchy of Mukachevo, since this metropolitan was the one who consecrated Peter Parthenius as a bishop. Whether Peter kept his pro-Union tendencies secret in order to get consecrated, or whether Simion knew about them, is historically unclear. Sfântul Simion, roaga-te pentru noi! Dn. David

As they say, the more things change the more they stay the same. Same difficulties, only the names and places have changed.
