Did Ss Peter & Paul in Jerome have a different patronage before the 1935 fire?
I have a 1928 Catholic Directory which references St Nicholas in Jerome. As far as I can determine, there was no GC parish in Jerome that translated to Orthodoxy in the '30s. Or, if one did, it changed patronage, as none of the Churches has a St Nicholas parish in that immediate area.
I think the nearest St Nicholas Church to Jerome is in Nickytown - about 40 miles away. Even allowing for the fluidity of PA township/borough boundaries that comes into play whenever people from there tell you where something is located, 40 miles is a bit of a stretch
Anyone know anything more?
Many years,
Neil
