I am on a quest to find a distributor/grocery store that sells brinza cheese. I have visited Slovakia several times and can't find anything that substitutes for brinza. I live in Northern New Jersey (attend the Cathedral in Passaic,NJ)...During coffee hour on Sundays, we fantasize about the lucious foods our grandparents prepared.....If there's anyone out there who has information in this regard, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Bryndza is available at Julian Bacynski's market on 2nd Ave & St. Mark's Place in NYC -- it is opposite the Ukrainian National Home. If you want to come to Paradise, then visit Brighton Beach Blvd in the Brighton Beach section of Borroklyn: there you can get anything that whets your appetite from the former Soviet Union. Seek and ye shall find! Or, contact me and I'll take you for a tour!

Delicious bryndza - East Village Meat Market and Deli operated by Mr. Julian Baczynsky, 212 Second Avenue, Manhattan. Phone: 212 228-5590
While in the neighborhood, there's St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on 7th Street between Second and Third Avenues, delightful Surma's Ukrainian Gift Shop almost directly across street from the church. Lunch or dinner at the Ukrainian National Home across the street from Baczynsky's Market is always a treat too.
Enjoy! Bon Appetit! Smachnoho!
[No, I do not work for the Ukrainian East Village Chamber of Commerce - LOL. Am a Northeastern Pennsylvanian who enjoys New York City a great deal]
One more thing: you can find almost anything and everything Slavic in Brighton Beach, but the rudeness of the store employees is hard to take.

I used to make it myself from our own goat milk.
