On the one hand, Cardinal Schonborn "... had promised to donate the church after determining it could no longer be maintained by its declining Roman Catholic congregation;" but then--they always say that. However, it's encouraging that this is a donation, and no money was exchanged in the transfer. I certainly have no argument with the statement that "Roman Catholics should help sister churches in a spirit of Christian solidarity," and that it is better to give churches to them than sell them for use as restaurants or discos.

Many years, Neil _________________________ "One day all our ethnic traits ... will have disappeared. Time itself is seeing to this. And so we can not think of our communities as ethnic parishes, ... unless we wish to assure the death of our community."
