Hi guys,

are there any good catechesis or pastoral resources for Byzantine Catholic youths? This can include books or even other printed materials which can be used when working with youths and young adults. Thanks everyone! smile

God With Us publications has several. Also check Sophia Press, the publishing house of the Melkite eparchy (U.S.). Both publishers are distributed by Theological Book Service. Their website is www.theobooks.org

Collin,

I agree with Rybak's recommendation but ... if you decide on some that you find there, I'd check carefully online to see if they can also be found from other sources. In my opinion, TheoBooks charges outrageous handling fees (which they tack on to the shipping charges). It's been my experience that purchasing the same materials elsewhere is almost always less expensive. (I'm actually glad that this subject came up because it reminds me that I wanted to point this out to the powers that be at the Eparchy.)

Depending on what you're looking for, you might also want to check out the website of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. It has some excellent materials, directed at children and young adults, particularly its series on icons, as I recollect.

Many years,

Neil

The God With Us Publications books I think can only be sourced at Theological Books Service now. The Sophia Press books can be ordered directly through the Melkite eparchy and their shipping costs are quite reasonable. TBS has been moved from Indiana to Missouri and I think it changed ownership, so perhaps the shipping costs are less than they used to be? I'm not sure though.
