Maybe this should be split off into a separate thread, but is this part of the Rorate article correct: "The ceremony itself was according to the Byzantine Rite with some elements of the Latin liturgical tradition (such as the prostration for the Litany of Saints, which has been adopted by some Eastern Catholics for their ordination rites.)"?

That seems unlikely, but what do I know?

JBenedict,

Did you view the photos of the ordination or the video?
It did happen as there are photos of Fr. Pavel prostrate on the floor.

I saw from the photos that he was prostrate on the floor, what I don't know is whether this is actually a Latinization.

The Wikipedia article Zemnoy poklon (great source, I know!) says "Prostration is used only during the service of imposition of holy orders." So someone in the Orthodox Church seems to be doing it during ordinations?
