A blessed and joyous Nativity to those who are celebrating today.

Our parish is on the revised Julian so we celebrated the Synaxix of St. John the Baptist today. A couple of us were walking by Holy Virgin Cathedral (ROCOR)a few blocks from our church today as people were coming out. Several of them said "Merry Christmas!" passing us. smile One guy seemed more than a little shocked when we happily responded "Merry Christmas!" in reply, not "What??" This is still "the Russian neighborhood" of SF but the Russians who have come in recent years are mainly Jewish. smile
