Recently, I came across this article in an old issue of
St. Vladimir's Theological Quarterly:

St. Vladimir's Theological Quarterly 30.4 (1986): 309-334.
In reading it, I thought it presented the discussions by East and West at Florence on what the Fathers had to say on the subject of Purgatory in a very balanced way.
Through the kindness of a fellow Forum member I was able to contact Fr. Jorgenson and get his permission to share the article here. I think some here might also enjoy the article and it might stimulate some good discussion.
