Hello,

It's hold in the tradition of the Church of the East that their Eucharist traces back to the last supper ( a piece of Eucharist from the last Supper is taken and mixed with Eucharist after Jesus ascension. Basically, every time a new Church is built, the a piece of Eucharist has to be taken from an already established church. Does the Eastern Orthodox Church hold the same tradition?

The OO Syriac and Indian Churches, along with their Catholic counterparts hold that same Tradition. It isn't a piece of the previous Eucharist though, it's the leaven that is carried over. I have heard, but not confirmed, that this has fallen into disuse among the Syriac Orthodox and Syriac Catholics, but is still practiced in the Malankarese counterparts.
