It is with great sorrow that I share with you the repose of mitred archpriest Laurence Girard, who established many parishes (including St.Xenia's in Methuen,MA) and who served all up and down the East Coast of the United States as supply priest, missionary, and friend. Fr. Laurence worked tirelessly for all God's people. It was not unusual for him to work all day as a CRNA, serve Vigil, and then go to someone's home and fix their plumbing or for him to take people out for Chinese food when they needed a lift. I am personally grateful to Fr. Andrei from the St. Gregory the Theologian parish in Tampa, who brought Fr. Laurence Holy Communion every day toward the end of the night, and Fr. Kyril Williams of Holy Trinity Church in SafetyHarbor, who did so much to comfort Fr. Laurence and his family.
Fr. Laurence leaves behind his beloved Matushka Marina (Maureen), his children Maria Kasarda, Yvette Girard, and Paul Girard, his son-in-law Peter Kasarda and daughter-in-law Jamie Girard, and ten grandchildren.
May his memory be eternal.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Monastery.
Monday, January 16 Panihida at 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 17 Liturgy for the Departed at 6:00 AM Funeral at 8:30 AM Burial will take place at Holy Trinity Cemetery

May the memory of the Lord's servant, the Mitred Archpriest Laurence, be eternal and may his personal family and his many spiritual children be comforted in the prayerful expectation of reuniting with him in the afterlife. (I think that I may have met Father Laurence when the very beautiful little temple of St Xenia's - which I pass daily - was first established. If it was indeed him, he was most gracious and very kind.)
