Please remember in your prayers Kevin White, who reposed yesterday after a decade-long battle with Alzheimer's. Kevin was the 5-term Mayor of Boston from the late '60s to the mid-80s.
He was, as are most politicians, controversial at times, but he accomplished a great deal, rebuilding downtown, managing to avoid the civil unrest that plagued many US cities in the aftermath of Dr Martin Luther King's assassination, leading the city through the busing crisis, reforming the police dept, and bringing government to the people by establishing satellite neighborhood city halls. I can't say that I was always a fan of his, but it would be difficult for anyone who lived in Boston at the time to not respect him for his accomplishments and leadership.
May his memory be eternal and may Kathryn, his beloved wife of 55 years, and his family be comforted in his loss by the prayerful expectation of being reunited with him in the hereafter.
