Is this the right place to put this?

I can now speak about this. As the cat has officially been let out of the bag.

We're getting a grammar school, and sisters!

I think we'll be opening in Fall of 2013.

We have multiple donors committed (at least one of whom has kids of that age smile ), the sisters arranged, and the support of ur bishop and the RC bishop.

We'll be leasing the building next door, which already ha classrooms, with an option to buy.

And then the recently added frosting on the cake: instead of converting part of the second floor for convent use, add the next property over, a five bedroom house with lots of property to expand, will become a more house!

Oh me, oh my . . .

Wonderful news, hawk!

May this parish undertaking be truly blessed!

Many years,

The initial number ws going to be 3-5, but that was before the mother house. There will be a "few" more than initially planned.

Father announced the school at a large RC parish, too. Generated lots of interest in the school. Flushed out a couple of byzantines, too smile

We would be the closest Catholic school to that parish by a matter of miles; they haven't built their own yet (actually, they haven't built their church either, but a hall set up as a the church on a semi-permanent basis).

By "this" I assume you mean religious wearing distinctive attire rather than looking like laymen?

Yes, I do think that that visible symbol of their devotion to the religious life allows leads to a greater influence on those they educate.

dochawk,

I agree. My sense is that religious who refuse to wear the habit are rather ashamed of the devotion it suggests. Glory to Jesus Christ! over the announcement of the school, the incoming sisters, and of the growing work of your parish. May it be a positive example for the rest of us.

We got the construction permits approved last week.

Unless an appeal is filed by Monday, construction begins Tuesday.
