Shrine of Our Lady of Litmanova, Slovakia

Between 1990 and 1995, two girls - Ivetka Korčkov and Katka Čeelkov reported several apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of The Immaculate Purity on Zvir Mountain. There is now a Marian shrine at the place of the apparitions. Many people who are Greek and Roman Catholic make pilgrimages to celebrate many services, pray, attend confession and Holy Communion at Divine Liturgies and obtain water from a holy stream.

The Blessed Virgin said "I am the Immaculate Purity"

Many healings, both spiritual and physicial have been attributed to this Shrine. Prior to the construction of the Shrine area with various buildings and chapels, one had to walk up a very steep hill with no railing, it was only a foot path. The original small wooden enclosure where the Blessed Virgin appeared could only fit four or five people at a time and the spring water was only a small pipe in the ground. There were no other buildings or smaller shrines (i.e. enclosed shrines with icons or statues, stations of the cross, etc). However, the absolute silence on top of this mountain was overwhelming.

On August 8, 2004 Bishop (later Archbishop) Jan Babjak, of the Greek Catholic Archdiocese of Presov designated Litmanova as a place of prayer and consecrated the chapel as the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

On September 7, 2008 Archbishop Jan Babjak of the Greek Catholic Archdiocese of Presov declared Litmanova a Pilgrimage site of the Archdiocese of Presov.

Mary, our Mother, hide us beneath your veil."
