Given that they never get the chance to be baptized, can there be a Panakhyda for aborted babies?

I'm getting involved with the ProLife movement in our area and I'm wondering how to get the parish involved with it.

A panachida is not appropriate for this. There is a moleben which has been prepared and used here in Canada by Fr. Taras and Fr. Roman at the march for life in Ottawa and before the life chain demonstration every year. The bishop has served it at Parliament Hill in Ottawa. You can obtain a copy by getting in touch with Fr. Roman in Brampton, galadza@rogers.com

He would be happy to help you out.

Please excuse my ignorance; I've never seen any questions or comments regarding this.

Why does one have to be baptized for a Panachida or Parastas to be prayed for them? Doesn't that position confirm that there is a "Limbo?"

We pray for "those who have no one to pray for them." This seems to include the unbaptised, in my opinion.

Seeking guidance and wisdom,

Fr Deacon Paul

In Orthodoxy, we are told that miscarried babies are like angels in Heaven. Therefore, a memorial service would be inappropriate for an unborn baby.
