Is the newly-enthroned Metropolitan obliged to go to Rome to get a pallium from the Pope? Or is that s.t. only Latin metropolitans/archbishops have to do?

sielos:

Christ is Risen!!

If I'm not mistaken, the custom of giving the pallium to the Metropolitan of the BCC ended with Metropolitan Judson of thrice blessed memory. There is some reason that someone else may be able to remember.

Interesting to me that there was no representation from the Greek Orthodox Diocese of Pittsburgh:

Longer article from the PG notes that Bishop Melchizedek of the OCA Pittsburgh Diocese was there, seated next to Cardinal Dolan. A good sign, if I may say so! http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/loca...revival-631982/

Metropolitan Constantine (UOC-USA), Bishop Melchizedek (OCA), and Protopresbyter Frank Miloro (ACROD) were the Orthodox contingent.
