I'm looking to join this parish, so I wanted to ask what y'all think.

HB,

Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything specific about it - but, it is a beautiful temple. A fantastic series of close-up photos of the temple and its iconography by a local photographer can be seen at this blog. It does seem to me that at least one of our members here belongs to the parish - will try and remember who it is.

Many years,

Neil

I'm the photographer that took the pics that Irish Melkite linked (Thanks for the compliment IM!) I've also been a parishioner all my life. We're giving tours this Sunday from 1pm-2pm. Stop in. I'll be there, and Father Nick will be there, too. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on here. Everyone's very friendly.

I love it when my life gets easier biggrin

Henery,

Welcome to the forum. As I said above, beautiful photography.

Since we've lured you here, it saves me writing the e-mail to your blog contact addy - which was on my agenda for this coming weekend.

I'm the webmaster/admin of an online EC parish directory that ByzCath generously hosts. One of the things that we've tried to do is illustrate each entry w/ an interior and exterior photo, so that visitors can see the beauty of our temples. My planned e-mail to you was to ask if you perhaps have an exterior shot of St Nicholas that you'd be willing to allow for use on the parish's directory entry.

Not sure where I got the one that I currently use, but it was less than ideal as an original and suffered even more in being resized for the entry. It's basically not much more than a placeholder.

If you do have an exterior pic that you're willing to allow use of, please email it to me at ec_parish_webmaster@yahoo.com . I won't be able to put it up for a couple of weeks, as there is a software upgrade in process right now and I can't make any changes until that's finished.

I'd also like to use your Christmas photograph of the iconostasis (the 'blended' one) as the entry's interior illustration - the one I have at present is ok, but the other is an exquisite picture. We would, of course, attribute the photos to you in the 'Notes' on the entry.

Let me know if you're ok with that.

Many years,

Neil

Neil,

Thanks again for the compliment. I really love doing churches.

I don't have an exterior shot of St. Nicholas, but I will get one before long, and definitely before your upgrade is done. You're also welcome to use the HDR of the iconostasis, and if you need me to email a "good" copy to you, please let me know.

And definitely happy that I could make life easier!!

Mark
