UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE USA
CONSISTORY OFFICE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS
PRESS RELEASE

UPDATED: Metropolitan Constantine Improving

CHRIST IS RISEN!  INDEED HE IS RISEN!

We are happy to inform everyone that we had a very brief telephone conversation this afternoon with Metropolitan Constantine!  He was happy to inform us that he was off the ventilator and sitting up comfortably in a chair after being relieved of much congestion throughout last night and this morning.  He must be observed closely over the next few days, but doctors give much hope that he will only have to be in hospital for a few more days.  He was absolutely thrilled and so thankful when we informed him that when the notice of his illness and hospitalization went up on our Church website and Facebook site, we just sat back and watched as over a hundred responses came assuring that he was in their prayers and these were sharing with all their Facebook friends!  We could hear the emotional gratitude in his voice in response.

The Metropolitan thanks you all and we thank you all for your prayers and best wishes and ask that you do not slow down with them.  We have you all in our prayers as well.

In our Risen Lord!

+ Antony, Archbishop

+ Daniel, Bishop

Prayers for the Lord's servant, Metropolitan Constantine, that he be raised from his sickbed and restored to the fullness of his priestly service to the Lord and the peoples of his Church.

Flannery O'Connor once said of herself that she was sick of being sick, and I bet Metropolitan Constantine is too. I certainly will continue prayers for his recovery.
