Please keep my nephew Tom Tykodi, 55, in your prayers. He was riding his bike for exercise Sunday, somehow went off the road and was tossed from the bike. His neck was broken and the spinal cord badly damaged; doctors say he will never walk again. He had surgery to stabilize his head and he will have the use of his arms; fortunately his mental condition is OK. Yesterday he had a tracheotomy done and a feeding tube inserted. Now he has pneumonia. He has a wife and a daughter in her early 20s. Thank you for your prayers for his recovery.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers for Tom's healing. My sister-in law said everyone wants a miracle, but there has already been a miracle that he survived the accident.

The lampada before our icon of the Panaghia will burn for his intentions. Life and well-being are so fragile...

Prayers for Tom, that his doctors and care-givers are guided by the Unmercenary Physicians, the Sainted Cosmas and Damian, that the Lord look with love on him, allow him the maximum possible recovery from these terrible injuries, and grant him many fulfilling years in the arms of his loving family.

May the Theotokos intercede too to help bring strength and peace of mind to Tom's wife and daughter, and all of his family, as they deal with these circumstances and help Tom in his battle for recovery.

O Lord Jesus Christ our God, You patiently endured the scourging and wounding of your sacred body, that You may save the souls and bodies of your people. Look now graciously on the suffering body of your servant Thomas, and give him the strength to patiently bear whatever awaits him. Bless the people and all the means which will be used to restore him to health; and grant that he may accept his bodily sufferings as a means of reparation for the salvation of his soul.
