The latest issue of Sophia. the Journal of the Eparchy of Newton of the Melkites, also reports the 40th anniversary celebration of Father ARchimandrite Edward (Kakaty), which happened on April 30th. I've known Father Ed for all of those years and then some, since he assisted at the Cathedral as a young seminarian.

Over the decades, Father Ed has pastored Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Worcester (MA), St John the Baptist Church in Northlake (IL), Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon Church in Machester (NH), and St Anne Church in Waterford (CT), where he has served for the past decade, Additionally, he was previously rector of the Melkite Cathedral of Our Lady of the Annunciation - and I have a feeling that I've left a parish out.

A gregarious individual, Father Ed has always been particularly noted for his willingness to actively commit himself to involvement in parish activities. He's also a regular in attendance at, participation in, and support of the liturgical and social celebrations of sister parishes in the eparchy,

In your prayers, please remember Father Archimandrite Ed, that God grant him many more years in service to Him and His peoples.
