Keep on believing what the media is feeding you. First Kosovo, then Libya, then Egypt, now Syria. Tomorrow?

Christians by the thousands have fled Iraq of the last decade. A great many fled to Syria. Their life in Syria has been no picnic. They were no allowed to be employed but at least the government protected them, more or less. Now that protection is gone. Lord, have mercy!

So, you guys are saying it's OK for Arab dictators to oppress, torture and murder their Muslim subjects, as long as they treat their Christian subjects marginally better?

Now if only Russia would stop giving material and military (weapons) support to both Syria and Iran, things just might get a bit better in the region.

While I say this, I would admit that many problems in the region have been magnified by decades of U.S. meddling.

More examples of why America should get out of the region... We can only make things worse...

I still like Jefferson's approach. Go in, beat the hell out of the miscreants then leave. Repeat as needed. It seems there will always be Muslims who wish to kill people especially Christians and Jews. It also seems that every few years they get a strong man to calm things down until some rival party decides they wish to be the strong man. A revolution ensues and the new strongman, regardless of his claims to the contrary, becomes a tyrant. America doesn't seem interested in or adept at protecting Christians and Jews so a quick pounding every few years seems in order when violence overlaps the boundaries of the violent nation. The final answer, of course, is that Christians missionaries convert the lot.

As regards Syria. If we aren't involved in protecting Christians and Jews, and we don't seem to be, I don't see what interest we have there.
