What calendar do they follow in the USA?

Is it the same as what they follow back in Romania?

Do the Catholics keep the same calendar as their Orthodox opposite number?

Dear Pavel,

I have googled and been unsuccessful in finding this answer. Sorry. I also am curious.

Pavel, email Deacon Ovidiu Marginean at the Cathedral in Canton. I think it is pretty much up to each parish or monastery within the Eparchy.

I contacted HRM to see what they would be using from now on it and it is basically the arrangement as used by Greeks. The modified calendar where the Easter cycle remains the same as the Orthodox while the rest is new calendar.

I believe the Easter cycle is same as the Greeks for new missions. Others continue with Gregorian calendar.

Amen. But on the other side, they currently are the only Greek Catholic monastery in the US keeping the traditional Paschalion. You have to start somewhere, one step at a time - perhaps eventually they will completely embrace the True Calendar... wink

To Hegumen Nicholas and all the brethren, many years!

I don't see why there should be any sadness over HRM being on the New Calendar. The Romanian Orthodox (excluding the smaller Old Calendarist Church) and Romanian Greek Catholics are on the New Calendar, and HRM is in line with what is done in Romania.

HRM is not new calendar. They use the modified Julian calendar.
