Dear Byzantine Forum Members,

Can anyone on here provide me with the readings used for the Liturgy of St James celebrated on November 5 on the Old Calendar?

With many thanks!

Neale's translation indicates to read in order (St. Justin Martyr is footnoted to say 'at great length'): the Old Testament (the prophets); the "incarnation of the Son of God and His sufferings and resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, and His second appearing with glory; and this takes place daily in the holy and divine service" but with no specific citation of pericopes. Archimandrite Ephrem (Lash) is quick to point out that there is no agreement between texts, translations, and rubrics for this liturgy.

The Patriarchal Liturgical Commission (UGCC) gives for the celebration on this day (Julian): Ап. – Флп. 242 зач.; 2, 16-23. Єв. – Лк. 27 зач.; 6, 37-45.
