Some of you may already know her, but I discovered a Serbian Orthodox singer some time ago on YouTube, and I have been listening to her work a lot ever since. Her name is Divna Ljubojevic, and her chanting is simply too good not to share. Enjoy.

EDIT: Here is her wikipedia entry in Polish [pl.wikipedia.org]

I'm glad you thought so. Had you known her before? I genuinely don't know how well she is known, but I think her work certainly should be.

She is very very famous in Serbia .. and Greece probably as she does a lot of Greek.

I know a choir director in Loznica and he told me that not everyone can have a voice like hers ... as I was wonder how well I could sing at the time.

Something else that is amazing about Divna ... she sings beautifully but if you notice she sings melodies and tones that the average parishioner would be able to carry along with.

Orthodox Church music to the T.

I can chant her melodies an octave lower than she does and it sounds good for a man ...

Listen to her Our Father or Hail Mary someday ... it is done with style but not like Rachmaninov - something a average church member could sing along with is what it reminds me of
