Hello, Im looking to purchase a matching set of two icons. One of Jesus and one of the blessed mother. I want them about 10" or 12" with a small stand to place on a small table in my bedroom. Any good places online to buy from? I prefer a Byzantine /Melkite style vs Russian. Thanks so much, Tom

They have icons in both Russian and Greek styles.

www.dormitionskete.org [dormitionskete.org]

You don't have to accept their ecclesiology. They do work for churches whose ecclesiology is opposed to theirs too.

I highly recommend http://orthodoxchristiansupply.com/

Their icon mounting process results in a better product. The only issue is that they don't have a "matching sets" section, but I suppose you could find one of each which you like and get them together.

The website is run by some sort of new age cult. I would avoid them.

Their iconographic style also has a very sterile, production-line quality to it.

You are right about the style. However, they look good quality but not pure byzantine, almost "Americanized". My Melkite church actually buys from them. LOL! They are kind of modern but the quality is good and the last fine. They are safe to buy from.

*sigh* I realize many churches buy from this company, not knowing the group's background, but I would again implore you to buy icons from Catholic or Orthodox sources rather from this group. This article gives details as to what they're really like: http://orthodoxinfo.com/general/monasteryicons.aspx

I like your source the best but cannot find a matching set. Thanks for the advice.

By buying from them you are supporting a New Age cult that doesn' t believe in what the are selling when you could be supporting faithful Catholics and Orthodox.

Thank you Deacon. I did not purchase anything from them. I am just being honest many icons in our catechism rooms are from there.
