Hello, this is my first post here, but I am especially interested in Iconography and have been interested in it since I came into the Church less then a year ago.
However, I was reading the book of Joshua (or rather listening to it) and wondered why we do not see Iconography of many scenes in the Old Testament. My patron Saint is Prophet Joshua and I've only ever found a handful of Icons of him, though I am glad to be able to own one.
Is there any reason for this, or is it just that most Iconographers prefer to paint New Testament scenes and feast days?
I am interested in learning Iconography myself but as I am young and new to the Church I am not completely certain if I will be able to take up such a thing.

Surely the zenith of the iconographer's art is Saint Andrei Rubliov's Old Testament Trinity (The Hospitality of Abraham)!

I absolutely love Rublev's Icon of the Trinity and other Icons of the Hospitality of Abraham. However, I do not know of many other Icons of scenes from the Old Testament.

Some common Old Testament scenes in Orthodox iconography: Jonah emerging from the whale, the Three Holy Youths, Moses before the burning bush, Elijah on the fiery chariot, the Prophet Daniel's vision of the Ancient of Days, the days of creation and the expulsion from paradise.

A properly frescoed baptistry would be resplendent with Old Testament iconography: the 6 days of creation, nh and the ark, adam and eve in paradise, adam and eve weeping outside tbe gates of paradise, etc. See the oconograhic manual of Dioysios of Fourna among others.
