Christ is in our midst!!

Let's take a few minutes to pray for the children in the news from California who were shackled to their beds, starved, beaten, and otherwise abused.

Lord have mercy on them.

Let's not forget that this is not, in my experience, an isolated thing. I have known of situations like this before and at the time there was no avenue to report or get help.

I just can't get over the many people who cannot have children and who would love to have even one. Then there are those with multiple who savagely abuse them.

Lord, You have allowed Your servants to be cast down. Raise them up by Your healing. You have allowed them to be struck and wounded deeply. Heal them by Your power, always gentle to those who are hurting. If You send the Holy Spirit to work through us, let Him give us what You know your suffering servants need.

God our Father,
You do not willingly afflict or grieve Your children,
and You see your children growing up in an uncertain and confusing world.
Show them that Your ways give more life than the ways of the world,
and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals.
Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth,
but as an opportunity for a new start.
Give them strength to hold their faith in You and to keep alive their joy in Your creation,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
