There's a wonderful movie on Amazon Prime called Convinced. It's consists of interviews with more than a dozen people who were converted to Catholicism. They include Scott Hahn, Taylor Marshall, and Abby Johnson. Some were atheists, some Protestants, and some were lapsed Catholics who came back to the faith. In many cases, they talk about years of research they did before being convinced that it's the true church. Interestingly, more than one of them points out that what decided them was the apostolic tradition of church authority. While Protestants all talk about their faith being scripturally based, they can't decide among them, even within denominations, on how to interpret scripture. Catholicism speaks with authority rather than opinion and hasn't changed on the major theological issues for two millennia. I highly recommend this movie.
