During Christmas Eve night, I attended a service at an Ukrainian Catholic Church. It had an abbreviated compline that flowed straight into the Divine liturgy beginning with the Trisagon. Basically compline replaced the vesperal part of the vesperal liturgy of St. Basil.

Is this customary in the Ukrainian Catholic Church?

Hi Devin,

What you describe is not traditional. It as very customary for many Greek Catholics to celebrate an abbreviated Compline followed by the full Divine Liturgy.
