I just found out that I will probably have to isolate during Christmas due to Covid (tests are pending). I was wondering if anyone had any resources for the compline and/or matins to prayed as a reader's service for the Nativity.

I am pretty set with Typika and Vespers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Peace and Blessings for the upcoming feasts!

Christ is in our midst!!

Devin,

Many of us will be isolating with you. Our son and his family were to have spent this past weekend with us until he called last Wednesday to let us know the grandchildren were exposed to a child who had had a member of her preschool class diagnosed with Covid. Out of an abundance of caution we asked that they stay home until things calm down a bit. It is killing us not be able to spend time with them and take them around to our community Christmas activities. They grow up so fast and another year will not find them as rambunctious and eager about the holiday as they are at this time.

Thank God that you have your health and I, for one, will pray that you do not have any damage to your physical, spiritual, and mental life.

Bob

Theophan,
Thank you for your prayers. I had found out that isolating would no longer be necessary, so I was planning on returning to my Byzantine Catholic parish for Christmas. But I started dating someone just prior to the pandemic (Protestant but she was interested in Catholicism before we met and a bit more aware than most of the Eastern Tradition), and after much discussion and with reservations about Covid, we will be going to an outdoor Roman mass instead. In the grand scheme of things, I realize it is a small thing considering the widespread suffering. Still I miss my parish and look forward to returning. I appreciate your prayers.

Perhaps I will be back for Theophany.
