I just got my Christmas Musica Russica catalog and was glad to see 2 CDs by the Schola Cantorum of St Peter the Apostle (J Michael Thompson, conductor) listed. They were given 3 out of 4 stars in their rating system! I checked and they are also listed online:

http://www.musicarussica.com/

then click on:

compact discs (cds)

then go to section I--Orthodox Church Music in English

[that's I (the letter) not 1 (one)]

The offerings are:

I-46 Matins of the Resurrection

I-47 Great Vespers of St Nicholas the Wonderworker

Both CDs are renditions into English of Carpatho-Rusyn prostopinije plainchant. The first CD is the complete Paschal Matins. The second is the complete musical presentation of the festal vesper service for St Nicholas.

The recordings of the Schola Cantorum are among my most favorite and I'm excited to see these recordings carried by a distributor now.

I just received my copy of the Paschal Matins from Musica Russica. The the recording is phenominal. God bless J. Michael Thompson for all that he's doing to restore and use the Carpatho-Rusyn chant, especially setting it chorally. We should feel very fortunate indeed that he's teaching at Ss. Cyril and Methodius. Although it's out of season, I can't stop playing it.

The recording of vespers for St. Nicholas is equally as wonderful. I would recommend both!

John.
