Anonymous Unregistered	It's a good and dynamic parish. Fr. Joseph Francavilla is an excellent pastor, very Byzantine in outlook, a dynamic homilist. The people are, on the whole, very friendly and receptive to outsiders. The other Byzantine Catholic parish in the area is Epiphany of Our Lord (Ruthenian), which is down the road in Annandale. Your friend is welcome to visit us, too.

Stuart, My attendence at Holy Transfiguration has nothing to do with your parish (which I have attended twice and enjoyed--your priest is "cool", and I must say I enjoy the Slava Men's Chorus!) My godson used to live in the apartments right behind route 7, so Holy Transfiguration was 5 min away. I developed friendships there, so I continue to go there even though he lives a little farther away. My godson was Chrismated there at Holy Transfiguration, so I want to keep stability for him. Plus I have come to prefer Byzantine Tones over the Ruthenian ones. I listen to Byz. Chant in the car, at home... I even have got copies of Byzantine Chant lessons for canters that I use. Now I love the Ruthenian Chant too (and I just copied the entire Irmologion that is out of print!--took 2 1/2 hours!), but this is just my personal preference. Hope you understand! anastasios
