Friends,

One of our newest members of the forum is Nathan Hicks. He's is 45 years old. That is why his posts seem so mature.

Seriously, Nathan is one of our vital youth members at our Church. He asked me the other day if I would help put together an Apologetics course for our parish. Since he's on the forum I thought I'd take this opportunity to ask you all what you might include in an Apologetics course for an Eastern Church?

Surely the teachings of the Fathers would be essential. But despite the fact that Apologetics, like everything else in Christianity, comes from the East, it is rare to find a coherent Apologetics among Eastern Churches.

For my sake and his and perhaps for the sake of others let's have a discussion of Eastern Apologetics.

Some rambling thoughts.

Word = Reason from Athanasius.
Human Nature = Nature of the Word.
Tragedy of the fall = Loss of human nature.
Theosis/Divinization = Reclamation of human nature through the Incarnation of the Word.
