Christos Voskrese!
They say that if you don't want to be criticized, don't put your work in front of the public. Well, the heck with it. Here goes.
Our mission's website has always included a posting of the current Sunday bulletin and 4-6 previous bulletins for folks to read. Basically they were done in HTML and were nothing fancy or eye-catching. However, over the last 6 weeks or so we started posting our bulletins as PDFs... so, for the most part, what you see online is what you would pick up at Liturgy every Sunday.
Why go thru the bother of making a PDF version, which can be a bit more complicated?
For one, our mission is located in a very high-tech area. Everyone has Internet access (home and/or work). They are use to seeing "bells and whistles" on websites. In addition, many of our folks travel for their jobs or have elderly family members back in "the Old Country" they must assist with on weekends. Having the current bulletin online keeps them informed when they are out of town and saves us some dollars in postage to mail them out. Two, We have also reduced the number of copies of bulletin we have repro'd as many folks read/print the bulletin off our website. (We do know of a number of clergy and laity from outside our area who also log on regularly.) We try to have the electronic version online by the Friday before. Sometimes it is posted as early as Thursday.
Anyway, for what it's worth, I would be interested in any thoughts or suggestions regarding this one small way to evangelize via the Internet.
You can view the bulletins by logging on to
Epiphany of Our Lord Mission and then clicking on Our Sunday Bulletin. Note that the PDF for 5/11 is not the complete bulletin... the editor was out of town for an extended period.
Indeed, He is risen!
