Dear in Christ,

God Bless you!
As we enter, together, this Holy Lenten Season, the "Bright Sadness", I come before you to beg your forgiveness for any offense I may have given to anyone here either by direct comment or implied, or by my lack of attention at times.
We have this opportunity now as we travel this Path of Repentance this year united East and West, to open our hearts in Forgiveness of one another and to maintain that state throughout this Holy Season on this Forum.

I will not be here as often as I usually am, during the Fast, but will check in one in a while. Gos Bless you all and give you strength.

If I have offended anyone, or if anyone has anything against me, I beg your
forgiveness. May God grant a fruitful fast and a glorious Pascha to us all.
Lord have mercy!

I'd like to add my voice to this as well. There are times in discussing our differences when all of us can exhibit "pigheadedness" and a touch of the "Irish" so to speak. I ask forgiveness for any and all offense I have given. May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless all of His children, Catholic and Orthodox.

Pax Christi,
John

Dear Fathers and Brothers in Christ,

It is God who forgives you! Please forgive me, and remember me in your prayers during the fast.

Brothers and sisters,

These days I'm confronted more and more by my own human weakness. Only a few days into the Fast, when we're supposed to work on being better Christians, I'm already annoyed at some of the people around me, and have taken that out on them by being rude or snappy. I ask your forgiveness for my misdeeds and your prayers for me. I, for my part, offer my weak prayers for all of you.

Dear in Christ,

Forgive me and pray for me, a wretched sinner. God forgive us our endless sins, and especially those many that we commit in our ignorance and that escape our knowledge.

Mor Ephrem, I myself have been guilty of sinning at the most inappropriate times. I prepared for years to make a general confession with plenty of fasting and prayer. In the few days immediately after this lenghty confession, I committed shameful sins again. We all are weak, and in need of God's Mercy.

Samer,

Seems like right after I dump it all on God, and rise again with joy is when I'm awfully likely to trip & fall flat on my face again. Perhaps its the "irrational exhuberance" warned of by the theologian Alan Greenspan which causes watchfulness to slip, and blinds me to all the pits on my path, but in any case, you're certainly not alone. The astounding thing is that the Father always, without fail stands waiting to welcome us back into his loving embrace.

Rubbing my shins again,

Sharon

Dear Sharon,

Shalom, my friend.

Thank you for such valuable insight. Your last statement reminds me much of another danger the devil posits, which we are likely to face in such situations, being a lingering disbelief that God is so easily ready to forgive us after yet another fall.

I think in such times, if we do not reflect on the Crucifixion, which is the sole reason that our Father grants us this never-ending clemency, this disbelief can develop into something even more dangerous, despair and turning away from the Father's Mercy.

Yours in IC XC
Samer
