Of course, there is nothing wrong with praying for the salvation of Russia, and the whole world. But this particular prayer specifically prays for release from the "cruel Godless ones", implying the communists.

Dear Tim,

Christ is Risen!

If it will make you feel any better, you might enjoy knowing that linguistic one-upsmanship is a game at which many can play. ["You don't speak Syro-Aramaic? Didn't you go to school?"] Since no one c

I'm not sure of the exact date or medical details, but a week or so ago Mitred Archpriest Matthew Berko fell asleep in the Lord. Please remember him in your prayers.

The phrase  Quote: a ceremonial Divine Liturgy caught my eye. Can anyone explain what it means? Does any non-ceremonial Divine Liturgy exist (apart from prison-camp conditions)?

My second thought is to offer warm congratulations

Why did she have to wear a headscarf? Islam's code says "head covering", she was already wearing a hat. Why did she have to remove a hat and wear a scarf? Do only Middle Eastern styles of headgear fulfill the requirement?

Does the deacon perform some role besides his common one in the Divine Liturgy? Like preaching, conducting services without consecration...

Yes, the queen has been placed in a very tough situation.

If she smiles, then she could be accused of disrespect in a house of worship. If she frowns (too much) the same accusations could be made. I think she handles herself well.
