For the soul of Maria - 06/02/09 08:48 PM
A very good friend of our family, Maria (Tatarczuk) reposed in the Lord a few days ago. She was our "adopted baba" so to speak, having lavished much love and gifts on my sons as they grew up.
She led a life of suffering and sacrifice, as her and her husband's family endured frequent imprisonment and harrasment for hiding Greek Catholic clergy and religious items until the late 1950s when they were able to escape first to Australia and then to the US. After the Parastas tonight we will be putting her on a plane tommorrow to return to her village of Hrushka as she wished to be buried next to her father, and the village priest will complete the rest of the burial services.
To one of the grandest ladies I have ever met, Вічная пам’ять.
